So I have been daydreaming about this session for a while. You know, planning on the location, thinking about the lighting, excited about posing a belly. I envisioned this wonderful little field in Smithtown with rows of wild flowers and sunflowers larger then your head. It's dreamy and romantic and I thought the perfect place for Nichole and Jason to frolic among the flowers. Maybe even hold hands, giggle...and just be corny.
Upon arriving I ran in to ask the owner if I could take a few pictures. Yeeeah, this is the part that I didn't envision. He didn't exactly give me the answer I was looking for. Now what?! So I screamed, yelled, cursed and carried on...okay, if you all must know, I did that all of coarse on the INSIDE. I must have looked completely crestfallen. I felt like a kid who just dropped their ice-cream cone. I kinda stared stupidly, waiting for him to change his mind. But he didn't. As I turned to leave, he mentioned that I can take a picture on the outside of the field if I wanted to. Ugh.
As miserable as I felt, I decided to use it to our advantage. When life gives you lemons, what do you do? That's right folks, you make some sweeet lemonade.
and sweet it was...
Just in case you want to see how good nine months looks...
The sunflowers actually make her belly look small, lol. They were huge!
Ms. Lucy, the 'big sister' came along for the session...
My 'out of the box' for the session...
"me and my shadow babe"
If you have ever wondered if it's possible to love your baby before it's born...
the look on his face tells you all you need to know.
So I was pondering the other day about shots that I mention I love. Usually I'm much more modest. But you see, I never look at my work as my own, so maybe that's why I comment on my faves. When I see the images, I look at it as my clients story. I'm just a privileged "guest" to be a tiny part, that fly on the wall...that will take that small moment in time, and make it last. Forever.
Love...
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to spend some time with you both, Lucy and that little miracle.
I can't wait to meet that little bundle!

Even better, let's play a fun game. Leave a comment saying whether you think it's a boy or a girl and mention a guess on the weight.
Jason and Nichole, we want to see your thoughts there too! I'll go first...
